How to measure your project
Measure each wall on its own: length by height. Subtract the doors and the windows. And note the vertical arrises — the corners — separately, because those are not sold by the square metre but by the linear metre.

- Vertical arrises: ordered by the linear metre, not by m².
What a linear metre of corner means
- The piece is moulded as an L and wraps the arris, so it is already covering part of both walls. That area comes off the flats: each box of corners covers between 0.70 and 1 m² of wall, depending on the line.
Frequently asked questions
How do I work out how many square metres of stone veneer I need?
Multiply the length by the height of each wall, add the walls together, then subtract the doors and windows. Add 10% to 15% to that for cuts and waste. If the wall turns a corner, deduct what the corner pieces cover: each box of corners already covers between 0.70 and 1 m² of wall, depending on the line.
What is a linear metre of corner?
The corner piece is moulded as an L and wraps the vertical arris, so it is measured along that arris rather than by the square metre. A column 3 m high with four arrises takes 12 linear metres of corner. Because the corner piece already covers part of both walls, the area those boxes cover comes off the flats: 1 m² per box on FastFit, 0.80 on Hackett and Jerusalem, 0.70 on every other line.
Does natural stone come with corner pieces too?
No. Natural stone has no corner piece: the arris is made by butting two flat pieces together and a joint always stays visible. That is why the calculator deducts nothing when you pick natural stone — those metres are ordered as flats. Deco Rock manufactured stone does include matching corner pieces across the whole range, and the corner reads as one continuous piece.
How much does a box hold?
Boxes of flat pieces hold about 1 m² and weigh around 40 kg. Corner pieces are boxed separately and the yield depends on the line: 1.8 lm on the bricks, 2.5 on Hackett, ThinStone, IrishStone, Jerusalem and FossilRock, 2.7 on QuickFit and 3 on FastFit and Mini Chicago.
How much wastage should I add?
Ten per cent on plain walls, fifteen when there are a lot of cuts: windows, recesses, returns, or irregular formats. Ordering the exact measurement is the surest way to run short and have to order a loose box later.
Should I subtract the windows and doors?
Yes, if they are over half a square metre. Smaller openings are better left in the calculation: they buy you margin, and they generate offcuts anyway.
Is the result a quote?
No, it is an estimate so you know the order of magnitude. We confirm the final quantity when we quote, because coverage per box varies a little between styles. Check your measurements before ordering.
